We build stuff personal trainers need. Period.

We’re not on the brink of revolutionizing healthcare.

We’re not even on the brink of revolutionizing the personal training industry.

That’s not what PushProgress is about.

You see, NextGen Health is all about the next generation of healthcare innovation (If I have to pay them to say that I’m f’ed). They are consistently on the forefront of new healthcare technology. Not us.

Super basic, super easy, super useful. That’s us.

So what if we’re developing our software with the ever popular ruby on rails. So what if we’re web considered 2.0 technology. We’re solving an ancient problem. I think that’s what many people from the conference thought was so interesting. The simplicity of using 21st century technology to solve the headaches we all experience and applying that solution to a niche market.

Speaking of many people and the conference, that must have been the most beneficial part. If you have a product, even if it’s made for a very specific market, show everyone. The things people say will shock you. Sometimes they will make the most obserd, outlandish suggestions. For example, this one guy says “You should totally make this social and integrate with Facebook”. That doesn’t make annnnyyyy sense! Like, ok guy, let me just call up Facebook real quick to see if they’re interested. He must of just watched “The Social Network” or something. On the other hand, someone totally unrelated to our industry suggested we add a feature where trainers can upload there availability and clients can book themselves and cancel themselves. Now there’s something I wasn’t expecting. Extreme value from a random person. Boo yah!

Basically what I’m saying is you’re building something for a reason.

Why not show it off to everyone?

Now ask me if it was inspiring to be at a conference full of people trying to change the way the world experiences healthcare. Um, you’re darn right it was. Really cool talks, really interesting people and some meaningful relationships came out of the 2012 Nextgen Health conference. Thank for inviting us Startup Health.

…More updates to come
